The first iPhone was available on June 29, 2007, and was trademarked by Apple Inc. It was a technological breakthrough that has evolved and been improved upon ever since. Now, almost two decades later, the iPhone 16 was released on September 20, 2024, and includes several updated features. Is the newest iPhone worth buying? What does it have to offer that makes it a unique product?
A feature of the iPhone 16 that users will recognize from previous models is that it’s made of titanium, which is lightweight and durable. The size of the iPhone 15 and 16 have stayed the same. The iPhone 16 Pro Max, however, is the biggest iPhone model to date with a height of 6.9 inches.
Other advancements include a way to quickly access camera tools with a trackpad built-in on the side of the iPhone. This user-friendly feature was made for the convenience of an on-the-go photographer as a time saver. Apple added the action button above the volume control buttons that again provide easy access to the iPhone controls and settings. That button allows you to run shortcuts, access voice memos, the camera, do not disturb/focus, silent mode, and more.
But the feature that has been advertised the most is Apple’s trademarked version of AI, called Apple Intelligence. Apple confidently asserts that their personal intelligence system has state-of-the-art privacy protections, giving the user peace of mind when going about their day-to-day life. The security is excellent: even Apple cannot access the information protected by AI – Apple Intelligence. This intelligence system also includes writing tools that help summarize, draft, edit, and check your lingo on pretty much anything you are typing up on the iPhone 16.
Since the device is new and freshly on the market, only time will tell whether these upgrades, particularly the use of artificial intelligence, will lead to the kind of sales that Apple hopes for. So now you decide…is the iPhone 16 worth the $800?
