This Sunday, everything finally clicked for the Philadelphia Eagles. After coming up just short against the Chiefs just two years ago, this time, the birds thumped the two-time defending champs, 40-22.
Despite the score seeming somewhat close, the scoreboard doesn’t tell the full story. Philly led 40-6 with 8:00 left in the fourth-quarter, thanks in major part to their defense.
Rookie CB Cooper DeJean brought in his first NFL interception: a pick-six on his birthday. On top of that, the Eagles D-Line brought home six sacks, and the Eagles forced two more turnovers, giving the Eagles easy opportunities to score.

“The atmosphere was crazy,” said junior Addison Rhodes, who attended the game on Sunday. “I had an amazing time, and considering the fact that we’d lost to the Chiefs before, I wanted to see us win this one so bad.”
Like many SCH students, Rhodes has been a life-long eagles fan. “Getting to go to the game with my family, and seeing us win meant the world to me.”
Rhodes’ excitement is shared by many other SCH students, who all shared the same joy in seeing their Eagles win a title.
“It means a lot to get another Super Bowl,” said longtime Eagles fan and junior Ryan Shapiro. “Plus, we beat the Chiefs, so thats a plus.”
Celebrations are still going on all throughout the city, as fans celebrate their long-awaited victory. And with the parade coming soon on Friday, Eagles fans will have the day off of school, giving them time to go down to celebrate the Eagles success.
