When you think about the all-time greats in sports, many names come to mind. Some may mention Tom Brady, while others might mention Wayne Gretzky. Many will argue between Lebron and Jordan. But the only one who sits above all else is SCH’s own, History teacher, Dr. Matt Tarditi.
Despite being in just his second year in the league, Tarditi has already won two consecutive faculty league championships and is on the hunt for a third this upcoming year. But things will be a lot different than his first two seasons.
This year, the SCH faculty fantasy football league is taking a step up, expanding from having 12 members to a staggering 18. However, the additional members have only heated up the competition.
Ahead of the draft this coming week, the competition has been heating up. Mr. Keister told Lantern correspondents, “I intend to beat Dr. T.” Keister, who won a title three years ago, has yet to reclaim his title thanks to Tarditi.
But aside from having a target on his back, the defending champion has additional challenges in his way. This season, there will be a punishment for the first time in league history, according to official sources. Many league members are excited for this new chapter, including history teacher Josh Mattingly. “Hopefully it’s gonna motivate my colleagues to keep up with the league,” said Mattingly, who finished fifth out of 12 league members last year.
Mr. Mattingly loves the seriousness of the rule because “That way, there’s no excuses when I inevitably beat them, [and] dominate.”
Reports have varied regarding the details of the punishment, and although nothing concrete has been confirmed, some details have been leaked from our inside sources, who have chosen to remain anonymous. Rumors about the details have varied. All that’s currently known is that the punishment is very serious.
aving the looming threat of a punishment and a massive target on your back would be enough to intimidate any competitor. For a champion such as Tarditi, that feeling is simply nonexistent. When asked about it, the two-time league champion said, “When you’ve won twice in a row, [pressure] is a non-factor.”
Now he is continuing his quest for the triple crown, as the 2025 Teacher Fantasy Football League (TFFL) held its draft last night. When asked about the challenge a three-peat might bring, Tarditi only had one thing to say: “If [Michael] Jordan could do it, why can’t I?”
