This week, Sarah McAnulty, a squid biologist, science communicator, and self proclaimed “purveyor of squid facts” visited Junior biology classes as a scientist in residence. As an advocate for widespread access to science and conservation, McAnulty has spearheaded mural projects and street art to spark curiosity about wildlife in Philadelphia and beyond! Sarah has also founded a non-profit organization, Skype a Scientist, which gives eager students the opportunity to get to know a real scientist and learn science directly from the source.
As part of her goal to spread interest and wonder about biology, McAnulty is working with upper-school student biologists this Tuesday and Wednesday to make stickers that spread unique scientific messages to the world.
