Things are rather unhinged at SCH.
On Thursday, September 26th, an act of vandalism was committed on campus. Every single door in the cafeteria’s boys’ bathroom was ripped off and thrown to the ground. With homecoming weekend on the horizon, the maintenance team had to stay behind and swiftly restore the stalls. Not only did this take an extensive amount of time, they were already extremely occupied, preparing for the busy weekend.
This act of vandalism is part of a series of acts of disregard for the campus. This year, numerous other crimes have been committed, exemplifying the lack of respect for the school. On top of the door incident, a huge hole was punched in the 3rd-floor men’s bathroom which also required maintenance attention. It is not only vandalism but also small acts like leaving behind trash that negatively affect the community.
A team of administrators at SCH is working to get to the bottom of this act. The administration is not as concerned about who is doing these acts as not why somebody would do them to the school and how they could be prevented from happening again.
At the end of the day, any act of vandalism reflects poorly on everyone, so it is important to move forward together as a more mindful community. But still, the question lingers… who did it?
