Seventh grader Olivia Syrcle won the logo contest for the middle school newspaper, The Torch. The logo she created includes the school colors and has elements that represent the newspaper, such as a book and a torch. 

Olivia was inspired by the SCH logo itself. She replicated its colors and shape and included the laurel leaf and torch. 

Olivia is not only a great artist but also enjoys sports, such as skiing, tennis, and horseback riding. She even trains her own dog competitively. She teaches her dog how to jump high and protect her and her family.

 Other fun facts about Olivia are her favorite food, pasta, her favorite animal, a horse, and her favorite color, green. Olivia’s favorite time of year is the dead of winter when she gets to wear her favorite clothes, which are a warm sweater, scarf, hat, and warm cozy pants.

Not surprisingly, Olivia’s favorite subject is art. She is a self-taught artist and enjoys drawing on her own time. We can’t wait to see what Olivia’s talent will turn into.
