On Thursday Dec. 12 SCH girls varsity and JV basketball went up against the Hill School. Prior to the game, the girls varsity team knew that this would be a tough matchup because the Hill School had won against GFS, which SCH hadpreviously lost to by 27 points.
Unfortunately SCH girls varsity lost against the Hill School 64 – 74. Regardless of their loss, they considered this game a marker of improvement. A notable player in this game was sophomore Kendall Schnee who contributed seven three-pointers to SCH’s final score.
Regarding the game the girls varsity basketball coach, Coach Wright said, “We have a young team with a lot of talent. The girls are really starting to come together and realize how great we can be. The pieces are coming together and once the puzzle is complete, everyone will be talking about SCH Girls Basketball. These girls are the start of something great.”
Despite the varsity loss the JV won 26 – 18. The JV team had a new addition, sophomore Libby Welch. Welch said, ”I’m happy to be on the team, and I am excited for future games!”
So far, the JV team has had a strong start to their year. They hope to continue their success throughout the season.
