The schools PA system needs improvement. With a building as old as the Inn some technology may need improving. One of these items is the schools PA system which can’t be heard clearly from parts of the building.
As part of their summer project the SCH facilities team plans to improve the schools PA system. The PA system is important because it can inform students, faculty, and staff about critical information to help in possible emergency situations.
A strong PA system is critical to making sure that everyone is on the same page in the case of an emergency. With the campus spanning over 60 acres it is critical that messages can be heard quickly. These improvements to the system will allow for everyone on campus to receive messages in a timely manner.
Kimberly Elgart is SCH’s Upper School and Early Childhood Center (ECC) nurse. Elgart spoke about the importance of the PA system: “Well it’s a safety for safety of all of the employees and the children, and that we all have the same response, quickly, so we don’t delay any response.”

When asked if she was excited about the PA system improvements Elgart said, “Absolutely, I think it’s really important that we all hear a very clear and distinct message and instructions if there’s an emergency, whether it’s a fire or a lockdown or whatever that message might be.”
These improvements to the PA system are another example of SCH’ commitment to ensure that our school is safe for all students, faculty, and staff.
