Silent Night. The game stands as one of the most storied traditions in SCH history, and consistently draws a massive crowd of students to attend. On Silent Night, SCH fans remain silent until achieving ten points. After that though, the crowd erupts loudly, staying loud throughout the game.
The Blue Devils (5-3) took on the Episciopal Churchmen (2-6) at home this year on Silent Night, and once again it was electric. Students absolutely flooded the stadium, all dressed in a colorful combination of outfits.
This year’s silent night was combined with Senior Night, and so senior guard Keni Williams and senior forward Kam Waters were honored at the start of the game, alongside SCH’s senior managers, as the Devils’ faithful loudly cheered for each of them.
“That meant so much to me,” senior manager Aurie Brown said with a smile. “…It’s very heartwarming.”
During the game, the Devils started off slow while the crowd was silent, but a quick steal from junior AJ Trunfio turned into a fast-break layup, and after the crowd came alive, so did the offense.
“I just saw [EA] throw a skip pass, and I knew I was fast enough to steal that,” said Trunfio, who participated in his first Silent Night.
After that play, the Devils dominated. Both Waters and Williams had fantastic showings, powering the Devils to a 57-45 win, which was capped off by a Keni Williams slam at the buzzer.
When asked about what was going through his mind on the jam, he laughed, saying: “Hopefully Owen will pass that [ball] to me and I’ll show the crowd what they came here for.”
That crowd was absolutely electric after ten points, leading to some missed free-throws, and staying loud to throw off the Churchmen’s communication.

“It’s crazy,” said Waters, talking about the crowd. “Our crowd gave us that stadium pulse, call that [College Football 25].”
Many SCH students and teachers came out to support tonight, as this was by far the most fans the Devils had all season, all out here to support on Silent/Senior Night, as those two seniors picked up one last home Inter-Ac win.
“I do it for my brother here,” said Williams about Waters. “We saw each other grow up over highschool, we love this game so much that we just try to have fun out of every game we have.”
