“Okay, we’re building a biodigester, or an anaerobic digester, which basically means we’re taking scraps from the school cafeteria and turning them into a heating system. And by the end of the year we are trying to turn the food scraps into a heating source and then make a cookout with that heat that we produced here. We started this in Capstone last year, and we had no idea what this was before, but we really wanted to help the environment, and that’s something that I really care about. So me and Sammy both came together, and we had the same motives. We wanted to build something, then also something that helps the environment. And we didn’t even know what this was before, but found it through just trying to help environment.” – Ella Brown ’26
