On Tuesday Nov 26, the SCH girls Varsity and JV basketball teams had their first games of the season against Germantown Friends School (GFS). The varsity girls put up a strong effort but ultimately lost 63-36 to GFS. However, they did not let this demoralize them. Varsity are looking forward to their season ahead.
As sophomore captain Kendall Schnee said, “Despite our loss, I’m proud of how hard everyone played and we have a lot of room for improvement as it was our first game. I’m excited to see how the season plays out and how we can better our team in the upcoming practices and games!”
The JV girls are thrilled to kick off their season with a 33-18 win against GFS.The JV players attribute their success to their team’s chemistry and their strong defense.
Freshman Penny Boyle said, “I’m glad how our team played and it was a W to start the season.” Both SCH girls basketball are young teams, composed of freshman, sophomores and juniors.
