SCH, October 20. Students across campus were highly strung about the Amazon outage, making Snapchat unreachable for everyone.
During the ninth grade history class, many freshmen were scared and upset about the outage. They not only lost their favorite social media app but also their ability to connect with friends. No one knew how long this outage would last. People were scared to lose their streaks they’ve been working on for years, the memories stuck on snap that they couldn’t access. The feeling of being disconnected was too much for the 9th-grade class, leading to an unproductive class period.
Avery Burns ’29 said, “I was so scared to lose my streaks; all of my hard work would have been gone.”
The outage also impacted Twitter, Venmo, Netflix, Chime, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Doctors reported how they couldn’t communicate crucial things about patients, Teacher couldn’t plan their lessons, and many people were upset about not having access to their money.
