Dear SCH,
Welcome to the third year of the Campus Lantern!
Our publication is back and better than ever this year, with an awesome new staff dedicated to keeping the community informed about everything that is going on at and around SCH!
In the first print edition of the 2025-2026 school year, you will find a variety of interesting stories on diverse topics, ranging from SCH’s Artificial Intelligence Class to the Faculty Art Show. Each article has its own image, created by our new team of illustrators and photographers that will be working with us during the school year. Also in this edition will be the return of The Campus Flashlight, our fan-favorite humor section that made its debut last year.
While the Lantern has made a variety of important changes, including offering after-school credits to reporters, editors, illustrators, photographers, and even social media content creators, readers can still expect consistent uploads to our website and multiple print editions each semester. Beyond the print edition and our website, we will also publish content on our official Instagram page, @schcampuslantern.
Another change for The Campus Lantern is that this year, Dr. Richards will be working with our staff alongside returning faculty advisor Ms. Gellhorn to assist writers and editors during the process of creating articles. With his help, our team hopes to make writing an article as accessible to all members of our community as possible.
Even with all of these changes, I want to ensure every student at SCH still feels like they can be a part of The Campus Lantern. Just because we have introduced new titles and after-school credits doesn’t mean that you have to dedicate a tremendous amount of time to have an article published. Anyone who has something they want to write about, a perspective they want to share, or a story that they think matters should feel like our publication is the place for them to go.
Finally, I would like to mention that I’m particularly excited for this print edition, since it is my first as the Editor-in-Chief of The Campus Lantern. I want to thank our amazing team for all of the work that they have put in, especially Junior Editor-in-Chiefs Max Tonkon and Clare Murphey.
With Gratitude,
Michael Goff’ 26
Editor-in-Chief
